Poem--Jihad!

Declare again, a Holy War--a Jihad; once more
Purge the earth of hypocrisy, and hypocrites:

They, who arm Faith with swords and guns;

They who wield God as a weapon
To spill innocent blood;

They, who desecrate every Faith of Humanity
Donning a purdah of false austerity;

They, who divide people by what name they revere;

They who reign as tyranny, unquestioned
By twisting the Truth and murdering Peace;

They who rend to shreds,
The delicate fabric of community,
Pulling out one string after another
Until a society, a people, disintegrates…

They who blindfold the ignorant,
Offer them knives and machetes,
And incite them to cut down, unseeing,
All who come before them…

They who pervert innocent minds,
Poison their hearts with the venom of Hate,
And hand them guns in place of books and toys;

They who set aflame cruel passions,
Unleash mindless violence and delirious hatred,
And tear apart every bond of amity…

Such belong not to any Faith--Disown them!!!
Against such enemies of all Humanity,
People of every Creed--Unite and declare "Jihad"!


A bloodless, simple war of Silence;
A war of single-minded protest;
A war of Peace--of Humanness;
Of Faith, of God--A war of Love!!!
