Poem--The Hymn of the Lodestar*
Mistake not Silence for Peace, Stranger…
Silence is the brittle Stillness of a dam about to burst;
Peace is the velvet Calm of a river running deep.
Silence is the blanket of Fear on a moonless night;
Peace is the misty Glory of breaking dawn.
Silence is the relentless Bondage in seething Hatred;
Peace is the serene Acceptance in unconditional Love.
Silence is—
The handcuff of Guilt,
The obstinacy of Foolishness,
The hesitation of Cowardice;
Peace is—
The adornment of Innocence,
The confidence of Wisdom,
The constancy of Courage.
In Silence is death without Death; in Peace is Eternal Life.
Silence is not Peace, Pilgrim;
Yet, in Enlightenment, You will discern—
In Silence lies the Opportunity
To find the Path…
And the Choice to seek Infinite Peace.

fareen...i am not able to understand this...
How i feel it or see it is...peace is the condition or status of the self...silence is an expression...
So the comparision between these two would be more or less like comparing a tree and its fruit...
and of course silence can be the expression of many other status of the self or at the mind level...
Hey thanks for adding me to your list of blogs. I am honored!
